Fishing

Do you feel like fishing in our winding streams and bubbling mountain gaves? The Atlantic Pyrenees have 4000 km of rivers just for you! One of the most beautiful destinations in the world... Whether you are a beginner, an expert, or just wanting a leisurely fishing afternoon with your family, the Bearn region can satisfy all appetites.

If the fario trout and the salmon definitely remain the kings of our rivers, our numerous streams and lakes are populated by a wide range of species such as carp, white fish and even carnivores.

If you are a keen fisherman, your skill will allow you to thwart the subtlety of our tumultuous gaves, our small rivers and our mountain torrents. Thrill guaranteed!

Feeling like improving or trying new techniques, just contact one of our fishing guides who'll give you some of their best kept secrets.

A day in the countryside with your family, picnic and leisurely fishing session? There's necessarily a stream, a lake or a gave nearby and made for you. Each one will this way discover the immediate pleasure of fishing.

Our personal favourite:

Les truites du Haut-Baretous fish farm
In natural surroundings at the foot of the Pyrenees, this fish farm is ready to welcome you every day. The fishing circuit is open all year round and fits perfectly into the character of the site. It is a pond where you can go line fishing (equipment supplied). The trout return to their wild habits by feeding in a natural way and therefore become fitter for the practise of line fishing. On-site catering at "Le Foehn" restaurant.
